چکیده
To investigate the impact of CO 2 on rocks during whole period pre-pad energized fracturing operation for thin interbedded shale reservoir, including and well shut-in, a series laboratory triaxial experiments soaking were conducted (from Jimsar formations). In these experiments, combined with computed tomography (CT), effect fluid, horizontal principal stress difference, vertical stress, natural fractures fracture morphology studied respectively. And based X-ray diffraction (XRD) scanning electron microscopy (SEM) dissolution minerals changes pore structure before after analyzed. The results experiment show that bedding planes are easy to be opened by low viscosity longitudinal intersect build complex network. During shale, difference is no longer crucial factor form network, but play important roles. indicate main dissolved mineral carbonate whose ratio can reach 45.2% 5 days, leading expansion original pores or exposure new pores.

BACKGROUND Reactive-transport simulation is a tool that is being used to estimate long-term trapping of CO2, and wellbore and cap rock integrity for geologic CO2 storage. We reacted end member components of a heterolithic sandstone and shale unit that forms the upper section of the In Salah Gas Project carbon storage reservoir in Krechba, Algeria with supercritical CO2, brine, and with/without ...
متن کاملExperimental evaluation of in situ CO2-water-rock reactions during CO2 injection in basaltic rocks: Implications for geological CO2 sequestration
[1] Deep aquifers are potential long-term storage sites for anthropogenic CO2 emissions. The retention time and environmental safety of the injected CO2 depend on geologic and physical factors and on the chemical reactions between the CO2, the aquifer water, and the host rocks. The pH buffer capacity of the aquifer water and the acid neutralization potential of the host rocks are important fact...

For technical and economic success of miscible gas injection projects, an accurate laboratory measurement of Minimum Miscibility Pressure (MMP) at reservoir conditions is essential. On the other hand, compositional reservoir simulator is a useful tool in gas injection studies and prediction of MMP. The main goal of this paper is to describe a procedure to generate a three phase sequential t...
متن کاملExperimental Investigation of Mechanical Properties of Black Shales after CO2-Water-Rock Interaction
The effects of CO2-water-rock interactions on the mechanical properties of shale are essential for estimating the possibility of sequestrating CO2 in shale reservoirs. In this study, uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) tests together with an acoustic emission (AE) system and SEM and EDS analysis were performed to investigate the mechanical properties and microstructural changes of black shales ...
